The Georgia Department of Transportation has started a year-long project along Peachtree Road Monday.

GDOT and Georgia Power workers will move about 100 utility poles further away from the road along an eight-mile stretch of the road from 14th Street in Midtown to Roswell Road at Windsor Parkway in Sandy Springs.

Commuters can expect daily roadway from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

GDOT and Georgia Power said they will make every effort to limit lane closures and they will be avoiding all lane closures during rush hour.
