Authorities said Monday a woman wanted for killing a Chattanooga Police officer in a hit and run crash late Sunday night has turned herself in at police headquarters.

Janet Elaine Hinds, 54, was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted List just prior to her turning herself into the police. Investigators made the announcement early Monday morning.

Officer Nicholas Galinger was outside his vehicle on Hamill Road late Sunday when he was hit and killed, police said.

It was not immediately clear if Hinds had a lawyer or when her first appearance would be.
