For several hours Thursday, Booker T. Washington High School was placed on a "soft lockdown" according to an official for Atlanta Public Schools.

The lockdown was put in place after Atlanta Police officers spotted suspects breaking into cars near the high school. Fearing those suspects may flee into the school; the lockdown was started around midday and lasted until the end of school. The school district says it sent out a robocall to parents to let them know what was happening.

Also Thursday, several cars parked at Fain Elementary school were also broken into. Fain Elementary is only about five miles from Washington High School, but at this point police haven't said whether they believe the two incidents are connected.

So far, no suspects have been arrested in either case. If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Atlanta Police Department.
