GORDON COUNTY, Ga. - A toddler is dead after his parents found him unresponsive in a partially-filled swimming pool in Gordon County.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Knight Bottom Road Monday night for reports of a child drowned. Upon arrival, deputies, along with fire and rescue personnel, began administering medical aid to the two-and-half year old boy. The child was transported to Gordon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say the child’s parents told them they found the child unresponsive in the pool before calling 911. The pool reportedly had standing water in the deep end and was not fenced.
Authorities say they do not suspect foul play, but an investigating is ongoing.
