Time to Make Holiday Spending Money

Only nine more Mondays until Christmas. That's it. So if you're thinking about making extra money for the holidays, it's time to get moving.

You can put in applications for sales help, or you can work for yourself to make a little holiday money. I've started to do this myself. In one week I brought in $170 simply selling used children's clothing, a carseat, even a bike trainer that I used once that has been sitting unused for more than a decade. Everybody has stuff lying around they don't need. Sell it.

And many of you have skills like baking. Yes, offer your services to other working parents. Sell some holiday cookies for children to give to their teachers, for neighbors to give to their hairdresser or for co-workers.

Can you wrap a nice package? Well, sell that service. Listen some people are terrible at making good looking packages. Offer to put up their decorations - the tree, the wreaths on the windows.

Babysitting.  It's not just for kids. You can watch other people's children while they go to holiday parties. Have them drop the kids off at your house and keep a few kids at once.

Also, make homemade gifts to sell. It's easy. About a year ago we showed you how to make homemade body scrubs. I made them and gave them as gifts last year. Well, make them and sell them.
