Police said thieves went through a Gwinnett County neighborhood and stole two cars and Christmas presents from a vehicle, and the culprits were apprehended at a DeKalb County Hotel where four individuals were staying in a room.

Only FOX 5 was there as officers recovered the vehicles, and went into the room and seized weapons. Officers would not say if they believed the crew of thieves were behind more holiday thefts.

"They're messing my time up to go to New Jersey to see my family.. messing money up to buy presents," said Dylan Barton, whose Lexus was stolen but could not find his key fob; he said a new one would be $400.

The individuals were arrested by DeKalb County Police and face charges of theft by receiving, theft by taking, and other charges from DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, and Rockdale County.

As thieves across the Metro have targeted numerous cars to steal or break into for holiday shopping items, officers advise residents to remove their spare keys and garage door openers from vehicles and to never store presents in a car.
