ATLANTA - Atlanta police have identified a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman as she watched a Dragon Con parade last week.
During a press conference Friday, officials identified 45-year-old Lerisha Collins as the suspect. He faces charges of sexual battery and public indecency.
Collins is described as a black male, weighing 230 pounds, 5’10” tall, with brown eyes and a bald head.
A woman detailed the sexual assault in a Facebook post on Sunday. She said she felt someone standing very close behind her.
“His crotch was completely against me,” she wrote. “So I turned around and looked down and his entire penis was out of his pants up against me. I called him out and starting screaming and hitting him so he got scared and ran away.”
The incident occurred at the intersection of Andrew Young International and Peachtree Center Avenue.
The woman told police that Collins made physical contact with her outside of her clothes as she stood on the sidewalk.
She also posted photos of Collins to her Facebook page in a plea for help in identifying him. Aside from the victim, police say two people witnessed the crime. The woman reportedly plans to press charges in connection with case.
According to the Fulton County Jail, Collins bonded out of jail Saturday morning.
