South Fulton roads closed after collision between train, tractor-trailer
SOUTH FULTON, Ga. - The South Fulton Police Department is investigating a collision between a CSX train and a tractor-trailer that occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt Highway and Roberts Road on the night of Feb 3.
What we know:
Officers responded to the scene around 9:58 p.m., where a preliminary investigation revealed that the tractor-trailer was attempting to enter the business premises of Strategic Material when its trailer was struck by an oncoming CSX train while crossing the tracks.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured and declined medical attention from Fire and EMS personnel. The collision caused significant damage to both the trailer and the front section of the train.

Due to the collision, several roadways are currently blocked, including:
- Buffington Road at Roosevelt Highway
- Roosevelt Highway at Rockhill Road
CSX personnel are working to clear the obstruction, and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the area.
