SMYRNA, Ga. - A steady stream of shoppers flocked to Toys R Us in Smyrna for Black Friday.
As advertised, the store unveiled new "doorbuster" prices beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Employees said the crowds, however, were much larger on Thanksgiving night when the store opened at 5:00.
Manager Travis Stephens said the first thing snapped off the shelves Thursday was Fisher Price's new Beat-Bo. The store marked down the interactive toy to just $24.99.
"They definitely see the ad. They come in here destination shopping," said Stephens. "They come in, get what they need and we're just hoping to get a few more things in their cart before they get out of here."
Jacel Evans tried to skip the crowds by arriving early Friday morning before the latest markdowns took effect.
"It's very calm and quiet. Nobody's here. I can take my time. I don't have to be rushed," Evans explained. "And I can get stuff before it runs out."
