ATLANTA - Police in Atlanta are searching for two armed robbers who terrorized several Atlanta neighborhoods Wednesday afternoon, and ambushed three people within 45 minutes.
Police said all the victims noted that one robber had a very visible face tattoo on his right cheek, along with tattoos on his neck and forearm.
At 1:18 p.m. on Sydney Street in Grant Park, a contractor was ambushed at gunpoint by two men who pretended to ask for work. The victim said the men took off with his wallet.
"They asked me for everything I had," said Victor Aldana, who described one of the men as having one or more tattoos on his face, neck and forearm.
Soon after, at 1:43 p.m. on Glenwood Avenue SE, police said they were flagged down after a man sitting in his car was ambushed by an armed robber with facial tattoos. The man said he had no cash, and the robber fled.
At 1:50 p.m. at the corner of Sinclair and Colquitt Avenues in Inman Park, police said a man reported he was approached by two men walking in the opposite direction, and they pointed at least one gun at him to try and steal his backpack. The victim also noted tattoos on one man's face.
Police are also investigating if the robbers are tied to smash-and-grabs in a parking structure. Shortly after the robbery in Inman Park, police said an individual in the parking structure at the Inman Quarter shopping center flagged down a patrol officer, reporting several cars had smashed windows.
At least one black male with face tattoos was seen in the structure, along with a 2015 Blue Hyundai, police said. Authorities are not sure if the robbers are the culprits of the car burglaries, but are advising the public to keep an eye out for the car with that description.
Victims and police describe the robbers as black males with medium height. The tattoos on one robber are described as being green in color. The other robber reportedly has dreadlocks and a white t-shirt.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Atlanta Police or Crime Stoppers.
