ATLANTA - A case of road rage turned violent when someone opened fire on a driver on the Downtown Connector Sunday evening.
The victim, Kendall Lyle said he and his girlfriend were had gotten onto the Downtown Connector at around 5:30 p.m. As they approached the Interstate 20 exit only ramp, he tried to change lanes. Lyle said a black Jeep Cherokee would not let him in.
“I was trying to get around because I had to get over,” said Lyle. “Every time I sped up, he sped up. Every time I slowed down he slowed down,” said Lyle.
Lyle told police he waved for the vehicle to pass him but it did not.
That is when Lyle said he saw the passenger in the backseat open the door with a gun in his hand and fired four to five shots. One of the bullets struck Lyle’s tire causing it to go flat.
Atlanta Police are now looking for the black Jeep Cherokee with Georgia license plate PNZ 4390.
Lyle said he is grateful no one was hurt and wants the people who were inside the Jeep Cherokee brought to justice.
