DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Surveillance video from the Citgo gas station on Columbia Drive shows a white BMW backing erratically into a white Corvette on January 10.
DeKalb County Police said the BMW driver, Shelita Sutton, of Riverdale, had just been shot in the stomach and was trying to get out of harm's way. The Riverdale woman told the first officers on the scene she had just walked out of the convenience store around 5:30 p.m. when a man ambushed her and fired three shots. Police suspect the motive was robbery, but it's not clear what, if anything, the gunman took as he fled on foot down Columbia Drive into a nearby apartment complex.
A witness told FOX 5 News the gunman is known as “Hollywood”.
Sutton was able to provide only a vague description of the man who shot her. She described him as having light skin with blue jeans and a burgundy sweatshirt.
A witness said he was in the store located off Interstate 20 West on Saturday night.
Sutton is still at Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
