HALL COUNTY, Ga. - Police have arrested a motorcyclist in Hall County after they say he led a trooper on a high-speed chase after evading a traffic stop.
Officials say the chase happened around 9:28 p.m. on Friday, July 27 when a trooper saw the suspect traveling north on Georgia State Route 365.
The motorcyclist evaded the trooper attempting to make a traffic stop and sped off with the trooper in hot pursuit, officials said.
The chase eventually left SR 365 and went onto Mud Creek Road and Old Cornelia Highway, where the motorcyclist lost control and hit the trooper's car., according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
Police arrested the motorcyclist, 35-year-old Gillsville resident Erick Joe Harry, after a short chase on foot.
He's been charged with having a improper tag, failing to change address within 30 days, driving unlicensed, speeding, failing to obey traffic control, reckless driving, felony fleeing, failing to maintain lane, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
