GWINNETT CO., Ga - Gwinnett County Police asking for the public’s help finding a couple they believe are linked to a string of fraudulent house rentals throughout Metro Atlanta.
"This is currently the biggest scam that is going on in Gwinnett County and Metro Atlanta area," said Gwinnett County Police Detective Nermin Cultarevic. Detective Cultarevic told FOX 5's Nathalie Pozo that Julius Ball and his wife are behind seven different bogus home rentals in Gwinnett, Fulton, Cobb and Coweta Counties.
"These victims when I talked to them, described these suspect to the tee," said Detective Cultarevic.
Detectives said the wife goes by several different names including Camilla Jones and Star Samoya'Liona. Investigators said she posts fake ads on Craigslist, meets with victims, provides a fake lease and even hands them the keys. Some of the victims even moved into the houses.
"The scale and the extent that they went is quite remarkable," said Detective Cultarevic. "There are still active ads on craigslist."
Gwinnett County Police said the couple have collected close to $15,000 from victims.
Gwinnett County Police believe the couple may have targeted more people and ask anyone who has conducted business with the couple or who knows where they are to contact Gwinnett County Police.
"They are not going to stop, they are going to go on and on throughout Metro Atlanta area," said Detective Cultarevic.
