Pawn Shop Burglary Linked to Stolen Weapons in Atlanta

TALLAPOOSA, Ga. - It could be the end of a major pawn shop burglary ring which police said resulted in hundreds of stolen weapons ending up on the streets of Atlanta.

A man and woman are behind bars after they tried to break into Tallapoosa Gun and Pawn early Monday morning. Surveillance video from the pawn shop showed a black Dodge Charger leaving after police said the suspects broke the window on the front door but failed to cut the steel bars. The man and woman were arrested not far from the pawn shop after their car got stuck in a ditch during their getaway. Police said their accomplices, two men, got away on foot.
