DUNWOODY, Ga. - Civil Rights pioneer Ernest Green delivered the keynote speech Friday at Marist School's annual Diversity Assembly.
Green was part of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who integrated Little Rock, Arkansas' Central High School almost 60 years ago. Their actions helped mobilize a nation to insure access to a quality education was granted to all Americans.
Green said helping these students understand the past will help them build a better future.
Marist school hosts a diversity assembly each year as a way to promote acceptance and respect for all people.
The school also recently created the office of inclusion and diversity.
