Officials: Hall County man arrested for murdering his mother

HALL COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Hall County man has been arrested for the murder of his mother. 

According to police, a man came home Monday morning and found his wife who had been shot to death. It happened at their home on Skyview Drive. 

The man called the police and investigators suspected foul play. 

The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Linda Arrington, of Gainesville. She died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators later arrested Arrington's son, 54-year-old Robert Stargel, of Gainesville. He was taken into custody later in the day on Monday. 

Stargel was charged with his mother's murder. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Hall County Jail. 

No bond has been set for Stargel.
