Man with lengthy criminal record arrested for northwest Atlanta stabbing

A man with a lengthy criminal history was arrested after a deadly stabbing Wednesday night in northwest Atlanta, police said.

What we know:

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers arrived after 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located in the 1900 block of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard NW near Dixie Hills Circle NW for a report of a person stabbed.

The victim was pronounced dead.

Homicide investigators obtained warrants for Larry Gage, 44, in connection with the killing. Gage was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fulton County Jail. He faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.

According to investigators, Gage has 35 prior arrests in Los Angeles, including armed robbery, simple escape and auto theft.

The identity of the victim is unknown.
