Lawrenceville Man Wins $1 Million from Powerball Ticket

The Georgia Lottery says Dennis Taimanglo of Lawrenceville claimed a $1 million Powerball prize Monday afternoon. He bought the winning ticket at the Simonton Shell station at 920 New Hope Road.

Taimanglo said he plans to pay off bills and catch up on life.

The million dollar ticket matched five numbers from Saturday's drawing. Those winning numbers were 16, 19, 32, 34, 57 and the Powerball number 13.

No one won the full jackpot in Saturday's drawing, meaning the jackpot has grown to $1.3 billion for the next drawing on Wednesday. That is the largest lottery jackpot ever, anywhere in the world.

The million-dollar ticket sold in Lawrenceville is one of 25 tickets nationwide that won $1 million. Three other tickets are $2 million winners, because buyers paid extra to multiply smaller prizes.

The odds of winning the full Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, according to lottery officials.
