ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are looking for robbers who attacked and stabbed a 57-year-old grandfather.
Charley Harris, who said he has only recently left the hospital, is recovering from various stab wounds to his back area, a fractured jaw, fractured ribs and plenty of cuts to his body.
"If I hadn't fought them off, they would have killed me," Harris said, who tried to fend off his attackers but said he was found unconscious.
The ordeal happened in the Greenbriar Glen Apartments off of Continental Colony Parkway on November 18. Harris was visiting his daughter and was walking to another part of the complex, when he said at least two men ambushed him.
"They ran up on me. Someone hit me from behind. Someone else started running up behind me, stabbing me and kicking me," he said.
Harris said his wallet and his phone were taken.
Atlanta Police said one of the possible suspects used his ATM card at a Bank of America ATM nearby on Headland Drive and was caught on surveillance.
