ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Officials said there might be a new tax on digital streaming services in Georgia.
Streaming services like Netflix might be taxed if a bill sponsored by State Rep. Jay Powell goes through, officials said.
Officials said the bill is designed to expand broadband internet to rural areas.
Administrators said, a handful of other states have this tax but the proposal have been floated in several state legislatures nationwide.
The tax is a four-percent sales tax for those who already use the services, officials said.
