DALLAS, Ga. - A Dallas police officer is on administrative leave after shooting at a burglary suspect.
It happened at a home on St. Charles Avenue on Wednesday morning. Dallas Police said Officer J.D. Johnson was dispatched and found Jennifer Autry, 31, trying to get into a home through a partially open garage door. Investigators said she pointed a long gun at the officer. The officer then fired at the woman, but did not strike her.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Autry had a long rifle which was stolen from the home which she pointed at the officer. The home owner told FOX 5 News the long rifle was the BB gun which was stolen from the home.
A neighbor said she heard some yelling followed by five or six shots. The GBI said Autry was arrested one house away from the home where she was first spotted. Autry was arrested for burglary and aggravated assault among other charges.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to look into the officer-involved shooting.
The Dallas Police Department did not comment on the case other than indicating the officer involved is on paid administrative leave which is standard procedure.
