Four cases of Legionnaires' disease reported at Lockheed Martin plant

The Georgia Department of Public Health is investigating a possible outbreak of Legionnaires' disease at a Lockheed Martin plant in Cobb County.

Health officials say four cases of the potentially fatal disease have been reported at the Marietta plant since December 2015.

Legionnaires' disease is a severe form of Pneumonia that people usually become infected with after inhaling microscopic water droplets that contain Legionella bacteria.

Lockheed Martin is working with an outside company to test and possible treat its water.
