ATLANTA - A former chief of police is behind bars after investigators said he misrepresented himself.
Investigators said Jabir Nejee Bashir, 63, was driving a black Crown Victoria with police lights. He was also allegedly identifying himself as "Chief of Morris Brown Campus Police". But that college no longer has a police force.
According to the arrest warrant, Bashir used to be on the force, but hasn't been active for seven years because of an investigation and bankruptcy.
He is now facing two counts of impersonating a police officer, possession of a fake ID and driving on a suspended license.
