Police have released a sketch of a person of interest in a College Park woman's murder.

One week ago, 41-year-old Barbara Delmar was shot and killed outside her friend's apartment.

Family members say Delmar was hardworking, kindhearted and family-oriented.

That is why they say it makes no sense that someone shot and killed her last Friday at the Life at Avery Park Apartments on Charlestown Drive.

College Park police say she stepped out of a friend's apartment to smoke a cigarette and was shot and killed in broad daylight.

"She wasn't involved with nobody. She was always a home person and, you know, she would always work and try to take care of her family." Barbara's mother Dorothy Delmar said. "She wasn't a person to hang out in the streets.

College Park police say there were some witnesses to the daylight deadly shooting.

They are asking for the public's help to identify a man with dreadlocks who they call a person of interest. It is the best lead detectives have to bring some kind of closure to this family who is begging for answers.
