Employee with Down syndrome celebrates 30 years

A McDonald's had a special celebration for a very special employee.

Paul Voss, 54, has Down syndrome, but working at McDonald's is more than just a job.

Dozens of people waited to surprise Paul and celebrate his accomplishment of working at the location in Placerville, California for three decades.

Paul is known as the "Lobby General." Paul has a lot to do every day to keep the restaurant tidy and customers notice.

His bosses do too. They said Paul doesn't call out sick, he only takes vacation once a year and most importantly, he has a good attitude.

McDonald's didn't discriminate. Paul was given a chance like any other new hire in 1986 and it stuck. It's something his family said they'll always be grateful for. Paul said his celebration made him feel like a superhero and he’s just thankful for the opportunity to be there.

When asked how much longer he plans on being at this McDonald’s, Paul said he’s got another 30 years in him.
