ATLANTA - Before heading to the polls on Election Day Tuesday, there are a few things Georgia voters should check.
The state makes it easy to preview a sample ballot, find a polling location, and answer a lot of questions voters may have all online. The My Voter Page is part of the Georgia Secretary of State Elections Division and voters should check their status before getting to their polling location.
Once on the site, voters can login using their name, county, and date of birth. A link to the voter's specific sample ballot will be made available in the upper left-hand box titled “Voter Information.”
Just to the right will be information on the voter’s assigned precinct location. An address will be provided, but it also will easily allow voters the ability to get directions.
Voters should make sure they bring a photo identification card; it’s the law for voting in person. The Elections Division recommends one of the following:
- Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free ID card issued by your county registrar's office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)
- A Georgia Driver's License, even if expired
- Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state
- Valid U.S. passport ID
- Valid U.S. military photo ID
- Valid tribal photo ID
Precinct hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters should try to arrive as early as possible and be patient as there may be long lines.
The Georgia Elections Division has put together videos to help voters feel more comfortable at the polls by helping them know their way around.
Voters who believe they have witnessed questionable election-related activity at the polls may call the Secretary of State’s Elections Division at 404-656-2871 or call our Voter Fraud Hotline at 877-725-9797.
The Elections Division also has an online complaint form which covers a wide variety of issues they may experience while at their voting prescient.
