E-scooter committee holds first meeting

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A committee of Georgia lawmakers tasked with evaluating e-scooter safety, met for the first time Monday.

The Senate committee met at the Georgia World Congress Center Monday morning.

Over the next few months, the five members will take a closer look at how area government, state agencies, and universities are utilizing e-scooters and other innovations.

The committee will report on its findings by December 1 in advance of the State Legislative Session beginning in January.
