A donkey in Ireland was the picture of relief when rescued from floodwaters on Sunday.
Photos after the rescue capture the animal’s “smile” on its return to dry land. Animal Heaven Animal Rescue raised the alarm via Facebook when a donkey came into distress on Sunday afternoon.
Local man Mike Fleming came to the rescue, using his boat to help save the animal. Animal Heaven Animal Rescue named the animal Mike in his honor.
Since the rescue, a photos of the "smiling donkey" have been shared thousands of times on Facebook.
