DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - A Douglasville funeral home came up with a way to #LoveMore police daily.
It’s a simple black wristband with a blue line in the middle—employees of The Jones-Wynn Funeral Home & Crematory planned to wear it every day in support of law enforcement officers.
“These officers protect our community and provide services that are often unknown and unmentioned," Ellen Wynn McBrayer wrote in a press release. "The Jones-Wynn Family is blessed to help take action in showing support for local officers, also known as the community’s local heroes."
But the funeral home says they knew more could be done. To unite their community in their mission, they started offering the bracelets to the public for free.
“Showing support for our officers,” read a post on the funeral home’s Facebook page. “Come by our Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel to get your free wristband to show your support….Please share this post. #LoveMore.”
And, members of the community met the challenge.
By the end of the day, the funeral home says they had run out of the cop support bands. They placed another order and, soon after it arrived, it was gone too.
“It’s a humbling feeling to take a leap of faith and have the community back us with their support 100%. It’s an overwhelming feeling and blessing to connect with our community in such a positive way,” said president Dana Jones Wynn.
