DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Fire crews have safely contained a hydrochloric acid leak at a DeKalb County asphalt company.
Officials told FOX 5 the chemical was stored in an above-ground fiberglass cylinder.
A neighboring company discovered the leak.
As a precaution, firefighters evacuated the homes and businesses in a quarter-mile radius.
Officials say they have contained the leak, but a professional Hazmat crew will be needed to clean it up.
