Canton shooting leaves woman wounded in home
A 42-year-old man was taken into custody in Forsyth County after shooting his wife in their Canton home over the weekend.
CANTON, Ga. - A Canton woman is recovering after her husband allegedly shot her inside their home early Saturday morning before being captured in another county.

What we know:
Officers responding to a home on Park Village Drive early Saturday morning found a woman with a gunshot wound to her torso.
Two young adults, ages 18 and 20, ran from the home to get help and informed arriving officers about the shooting inside.
Investigators said multiple bullets were fired, with one projectile traveling through a wall of the house and lodging into the siding of a neighboring home.
Police launched a search for the victim's husband, 42-year-old Robtavios Reed, and notified surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Within hours of the shooting, officers located and arrested Reed in Forsyth County.
Investigators recovered a gun inside his vehicle during a joint law enforcement operation.
Reed was transferred to the Cherokee County Jail. He faces charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Neighbor reactions to gunfire
What they're saying:
Neighbor Taylor Berthelot said officers knocked on his door to check to see if everyone was okay. It was his home that was hit by a bullet.
"It's very scary, unnerving. This was so out of the blue and extremely unexpected," Berthelot said.
Neighbor Patrick Telfor voiced concern for the family's recovery.
"I hope she does, completely heals and the kids aren't traumatized forever because of this," Telfor said.

Authorities have not released the current medical condition of the woman. Police have also not confirmed a specific motive behind the shooting.
