DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - School bus drivers in DeKalb County are pushing for better pay, retirement benefits, and safer buses.
The group gathered Friday at Mount Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain for a news conference.
Parents and residents joined them.
In April, DeKalb County Schools bus drivers staged a three-day sickout with more than 450 drivers to pressure the school board to improve their working conditions and wages.
The district fired seven bus drivers after the strike.
The advocates are fighting for those drivers to get their jobs back.
