ATLANTA - A live-action production featuring one of the most iconic crime-solving crews is filming across Georgia, and Netflix just announced that one of Atlanta’s most notable performers is joining the cast.
What we know:
Atlanta hip-hop icon André 3000 is joining the cast of Netflix's live-action series "Scooby-Doo: Origins," which is currently filming across metro Atlanta.
The modern reenvisioning follows beloved favorites Scooby-Doo, Velma, Fred, Daphne and Shaggy more than half a century after the original animated series aired.
The upcoming show is set to focus on how Scooby and the gang first teamed up, diving into the initial mystery that started it all, according to Netflix.
Production for the new series began in April and will continue through September across metro Atlanta, per reports.
Scenes are filming locally at Cinespace Film Studios and Cinelease Studios in Conyers, as well as on location at a summer camp in nearby Rutledge, according to Backstage.
According to Filming in Georgia, production is operating locally under the code name "Talbot Pines."

Casting Call: Netflix's 'Free Bert', Talbot Pines
Film and television crews are filling up production schedules across Georgia this summer, bringing a wave of new employment opportunities to local actors and theater technicians.
If that name sounds familiar, it may be because FOX 5 Atlanta contributor Tess Hammock has discussed several casting opportunities for "Talbot Pines" during her weekly Casting Call segment on Good Day Atlanta, which airs during the 9 a.m. show on Wednesdays.
