ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Bunche Middle School Teacher arrested on accusations he attacked one of his students has been released from jail.
Brodrick Halls was charged by the Atlanta Public Schools Police Department with cruelty to children and battery. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Tuesday after turning himself in to authorities.
Early Thursday morning, jail records indicate Halls was released on a surety bond.
A middle school student told FOX 5 News Halls lifted him up by his shirt, slammed him to the ground, and put his hands around the victim's neck.
The 13-year-old student was treated and released from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
Halls remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal review.
He is scheduled to appear in court in May.
