It still two days away from fall, but campaign season is in full swing. Georgia’s two gubernatorial candidates were on the trail Wednesday.

Democrat Stacey Abrams received a big endorsement from the Georgia Association of Educators.

Several of the leaders of the teacher union spoke at a rally at the Village School of East Atlanta. Several teachers also threw their support behind her.

The group said they feel public education in Georgia has come to what they are calling a “critical crossroads” and said they believe Abrams in the one who will take the state’s education system to where it needs to be.

Meanwhile, Republican Brian Kemp was discussing school safety.
