Police have released the identities of two suspects accused in a violent home invasion in Johns Creek Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said Kenneth Hayes and Andraus Betts were arrested in Atlanta after officers found them in a vehicle stolen during the robbery, which happened in the 5300 block of Chelsen Wood Drive.

Johns Creek Police told FOX 5 News two men forced their way into the home, forced two women to go from room-to-room at gunpoint and demanded money and jewelry. Police said the women were terrorized for 40 minutes.

Investigators said when the homeowner told the crooks there was no money in the house, the men got violent.

“They were brandishing handguns demanding jewelry, cash, any type of weapons in the house. They struck them in their head and face with the weapons,” said Capt. Chris Byers.

Investigators said the suspects took off with two of the family's cars, ditching one of the vehicles, a Mercedes SUV, just down the street in a neighbor's driveway.

Several hours later the second car, a white Mercedes sedan, was found in the 2900 block of Springdale Road SW in Atlanta by police. Hayes and Betts were inside the vehicle. Police said both were taken into custody Tuesday night.

The women were rushed to an area hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately known.

Neighbors said they were shocked and angry when they heard about the crime.

“It literally gave me a sick feeling, I got goose bumps, it could have happened to anybody,” said Deborah Chandler.

Chandler said her children play with the three children who live in the home. She said she is thankful none of the children were home when the men forced their way into the home.

Investigators believe this is not a random crime and the family was specifically targeted, but would not go into details about what led them to that conclusion.
