Panhandle recovers from Hurricane Isaias wind & tree damage

Rosas notes that shifting wind shear prevented projected 7-foot storm surges along coastal beaches like Destin, shifting the primary destruction inland to Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, where falling trees crushed power lines, homes, and vehicles. Over 50,000 residents remain without power as utility crews clear heavily forested roadways to safely repair damaged power lines.
