DOJ pursues new James Comey case over alleged leak
The Justice Department is pursuing a new case accusing former FBI Director James Comey of transmitting and conspiring to transmit national defense information to a New York Times reporter in 2016. The filing was unsealed Monday after prosecutors submitted it to preserve the 10-year statute of limitations. Comey says he is innocent, and his lawyers argue the case is legally improper and intend to fight it. The segment also covers a separate pending case against Comey over an Instagram post and a judge’s ruling that his daughter, Maurene Comey, was unlawfully fired as a federal prosecutor and is entitled to retroactive reinstatement and back pay. FOX 5 Atlanta anchor Alex Whittler explains.
