Wednesday morning forecast

The first full day of fall will bring a mix of weather across north Georgia. Clouds and a breezy northeast wind will keep areas near and east of Atlanta cooler, with a few light showers possible. Farther west and northwest, more sunshine could help spark afternoon thunderstorms; storms from around Rome and Dalton into parts of Fannin and Gilmer counties could produce strong winds, hail and heavy rain. Most areas will stay dry, with a high near 80 degrees Wednesday. Cooler, less humid air arrives Thursday, followed by sunshine Friday and morning lows in the 50s.
