Thursday midday weather forecast
Rain is tapering off across North Georgia and metro Atlanta on Thursday afternoon, with clouds beginning to break following severe overnight flooding in the mountains. A few isolated showers remain, but conditions will continue improving as the rain moves east. Temperatures are unusually warm, reaching the mid-70s to upper 70s before a cold front brings cooler, drier weather. Friday will feature plenty of sunshine with highs around 74 degrees in Atlanta. High pressure will bring crisp fall weather for the weekend, with highs dropping into the 60s Saturday and remaining there through Wednesday. Overnight temperatures will fall into the 40s in the North Georgia mountains this weekend, with some mountain communities dipping into the 30s by Sunday.
