ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. - Two people are dead after a car slams into a Rockdale County home Thursday night.
It happened in the 1700 block of Smyrna Road near Conyers around 8 p.m. A spokesperson for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said a car left the roadway and crashed into a home killing the occupants. Another person in the home was injured and rushed to an area hospital. That person's condition was not immediately available.
Deputies said the damage to the home was extensive. Witnesses said they could see straight inside the home once the car was removed.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
Investigators said speed may have been a factor in the crash. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
