ATLANTA (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson's second re-election ad focuses on bipartisan legislation he co-sponsored to compensate Americans held during the Iran hostage crisis.
The spot released Tuesday continues an advertising strategy so far focused on Isakson's legislative work.

Neither of Isakson's ads has mentioned his Democratic opponent Jim Barksdale. They also haven't referenced the presidential contest between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
The ad released Tuesday does criticize President Barack Obama for a payment to Iran in January. Obama's administration says the payment settled an old arbitration claim. Republicans are calling it a ransom for four American prisoners.
Isakson's campaign says the ad will run statewide but didn't disclose costs.
Barksdale, an investment manager from Atlanta, hasn't run general election ads yet. Libertarian Allen Buckley also is in the race.
