DULUTH, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Duluth police are warning residents about a scam involving the police department's number.
Officers received reports of an incoming call showing Duluth PD's phone number.
The caller claimed the victims needed to settle an issue with poor credit by paying in Walmart gift cards.
The victims bought two $500 gift cards and gave the gift card numbers over the phone.
The Duluth Police Department says it does not contact people for personal information or debt collection.
