Police are looking for the person suspected of killing two people in a Southwest Atlanta, authorities said.

Atlanta police say on June 3, a driver passing by a home off Bromack Drive in Southeast Atlanta around 7:30 a.m. called 911 after seeing one of the victims stumble out of the home.

When officers got to the house, they found two people shot.

Lt. Carven Tyus from the Atlanta Police Homicide unit said, "there was some type of altercation in the front bedroom of that house and gunshots rang out."

One of the victims was an 18-year-old girl, officers say they found her lifeless body in the front bedroom of the home. An adult male victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators believe the suspect and the two victims were inside the home when "an altercation occurred that resulted in gunfire." The suspect then fled after the shooting.

Witnesses gave descriptions of the possible gunman they saw leaving the house right after the gunfire.

Investigators have now identified, Rufus Weems, 62, as the suspect.

Police do not believe the gunman and victims were related.

If anyone has information on Weems' whereabouts, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
