DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Religious and community leaders gathered Saturday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia to discuss ways to reduce violence in their community.
The DeKalb County Police Department, in partnership with DeKalb Right Choices, hosted the "Bridging the Gap” forum.
A group of pastors from area churches discussed ways the communities could work with officers to keep families safe. In October, the group discussed the need for change after the shooting of a one-year-old child in the county.
DeKalb County Public Safety Director Dr. Cedric Alexander delivered the keynote speech.
