Newton County student arrested for bringing knife to school

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. - A 14-year-old boy from Alcovy High School was arrested Monday for bringing a knife onto campus.

Newton County officials said the weapon was found inside his backpack.

The minor was charged with possession of a weapon in a school safety zone. Due to his age, his case will be handled by the Juvenile Court System.
