Molotov cocktail causes $10,000 worth of damage to Ga. probation office

CANTON, Ga. - A fire Monday morning at a Canton, Ga. probation office has been ruled by investigators as an act of arson.

Atlanta Fire Investigators working with Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said the fire was caused by a Molotov cocktail, which was thrown through one of the office's windows.

The fire started around 5 a.m. at the Department of Community Supervision probation office at 100 Medical Lane.

The blaze caused more than $10,000 worth of damage and heavily damaged the office's front lobby area.

Officials said no one was injured in the incident.
