The backstory:

Formed in Athens, Georgia, the group built a distinct sound through members Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, and Keith Strickland.

Over four decades, the band sold more than 20 million albums globally and influenced major music stars.

Their 1979 debut album went gold, while their 1989 album "Cosmic Thing" moved over 5 million units.

Outside of music, the band supports several organizations, including PETA, Sweet Relief, God's Love We Deliver, Life Beat, and Save the Chimps.
