Court hearing postponed for man accused of brutally beating wife

ATLANTA - A court hearing for a man accused of assaulting his wife nearly to the point of death has been postponed. 

Aaron Uchitel is facing numerous charges including false imprisonment, rape and cruelty to children. His wife, Prosper, was in the courtroom Thursday morning as word came in that his appearance was postponed until August 2. 

Police said Uchitel held Prosper captive and beat her for days in front of their newborn son. 

Following her recovery in the hospital, Prosper is back home with her son. 

Aaron Uchitel is being held in the Fulton County jail.
